Would you like to support my work?

People ask at times if they can support my work, and whether I have a Patreon or Ko-fi page.

The best way you can support my work is by reading my blog, commenting, and sharing my blog posts with friends, students, and colleagues. I would continue to blog for free even if I didn't receive gifts of financial support.

But besides blogging every week as a record of my evolving insights and questions, my long-term goal is to collect and refine those thoughts in book form. Donations could free me up to work more on that goal.

So after much thought, I set up a Ko-fi page especially for those who are financially able, and perhaps enjoy a specific blog post, and would like to offer a "tip." Unlike Patreon, Ko-fi allows for one-time donations, but also for recurring donations.

I also set up a Patreon page for those who prefer that (very popular) platform, and who would like to support my work on a regular/recurring basis (although you can also do that on Ko-fi).

I want to strongly discourage donations from people of limited financial means. I am most grateful when people "like" my posts, comment on them, and/or share them. That is more than enough.

My blog is free. You can search through my blog chronologically, or by keyword. I have some blog posts that are parts in series, with an index at the end of those posts that link to the other parts of the series. All free. You can also comment here on the blog with observations or questions, or DM me through LinkedIn messenger, and I'm happy to get back to you about your questions.

Some people set up their Ko-fi or Patreon pages so that there is special content available to supporters who give more money. I respect that for people who chose that route.

But I am a firm believer that more scholarly content should be made available to all, for free, no strings attached.

My blog is a gift every week that I greatly enjoy preparing and giving. Setting up and managing extra content for donors at higher levels would only detract from my schedule and make it harder for me to do my work, an extra burden.

So it's all free.

If you are able and would like to support that work I've been doing informally since about 2013, and more formally since late in 2018, and that I hope to continue long into the future, your support would be a gift for which I'd be very grateful.

Thanks for your consideration.

Paul
